Delaware County Fairgrounds Grandstands

Structural engineering studies and inspection conducted in 2011 concluded the Grandstands at the Delaware County Fairgrounds were unsafe and, when originally constructed around 1952, were only intended to be temporary. The fair board made replacing the old and unsafe grandstands a priority, with a project budget of $900,000 to do so. The fair board selected a new bleacher system from Dant Clayton Corporation to be constructed. Though a different engineering firm was consulted for structural analysis and review of the new system, the fair board and general contractor opted to consult with RMA for general site grading and drainage concerns, as well as ensure ADA compliance for people with disabilities. RMA met with the fair board and contractors and consulted on the placement and layout of the bleachers, and provided some topographic surveying and site grading design. RMA was also involved throughout the construction process, providing constructing engineering.
