RMA was a sub-consultant on this project in Muncie, Indiana. This was a complete site redevelopment demolishing existing downtown retail buildings for the construction of a new facility. In partnership with Meridian Health Services (“Meridian”), Walnut Commons is 44 units of Permanent Supportive Housing in Muncie, Indiana for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, as well as disabled veterans. The 3 story building will have both studio and one-bedroom apartments, with elevator accessibility.
RMA was project surveyor and project engineer, performing the necessary retracement and topographic surveys, civil design including site layout, grading, utility design (including re-routing a gas main and an old brick sewer), and stormwater management, and permitting through the local jurisdictions. RMA also performed construction engineering. The project is currently under construction, with completion expected in the fall of 2014.
